Ingredients:

  • 1 bottle of premium red wine 700 ml
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 6 whole cloves
  • 3 star anise
  • 1 dry slice of orange for garnish
You have to provide:
  • 1 fresh orange, sliced into rounds
  • brown sugar or honey to taste
  • optional: brandy 50 ml

Combine all ingredients in a medium saucepan and put it over medium heat. Bring to a simmer not a boil, then reduce heat to medium-low. Simmer gently over low heat for 10 minutes.
